Will this be the end of the dull wet rainy days?

Macie enjoyed getting out for a run around the back.
It was wet under foot and mosquitos were plenty.
Macie also cooled off by sitting down then laying down in a cool muddy puddle.

The Gas Company had two drilling vehicles behind the house today.
They were taking soil samples behind the house yesterday.
Looks like they are going to lay a second pipeline around the back along side the existing pipe underground pipe.

The Supervisor of the drilling told me they should start within the next few months.

There has been so much development off to our West that it appears they need more gas pumped to them than the existing pipeline can provide.
I'm assuming that there will soon be many months of digging, noise and mud where I leave the house to walk.

The week so far.
I have been working, from home, food shoping, cleaning carpets.
Cleaned all carpets upstairs today.

I have cycled twice during this week and walked Macie between rain showers.
Managed a few walking and Photo sorties around the back of the house, once again betwen showers.

The evenings I listen to the BBC, surf the net, do my blog entries, work a little.

Jeep liberty ended up in the service Garage this week for $388 worth of work.

Seems my camera has developed another mark on the sensor.
I have to work out how to get that cleaned, as the place I take it is not open Saturdays and I'm travelling from next week. Need to get it cleaned up somehow before I go to Reno/Lake Tahoe in a few weeks.
Hopeful to get out some where this weekend, especialy if the weather is dry.

Other events on my mind.
It was a year ago I was back in the UK in London and arrived at Trafalgar Square to experience the celebrations as London was announced as the hosts of the 2012 Olympic games.
There was the Live Aid concerts in Hyde Park and I took the kids up to see the stage.
It was also an opportunity to visit second world war events and of course the Celebrations of the Battle of Trafalgar. What a great Country the UK is. There is no doubt. I miss it, countryside, pubs, history, and the people.

Of course also one year ago today was the London Bombings.

Last year we were traveling around the M25 to meet Hazel's cousin, whilst traffic signes flashed on the M25 saying that London was closed.
We saw it unfold on the TV at the pub we went to and listened to the radio when in the car.
Stunned and wondering if there was going to be more during our stay there.

Today in London there were commemorations and 2 minutes silence.
Without the BBC web site once again I'd be starved of in depth news about things going on in the world.
Felt very deeply sad at recalling that day, and for all who were killed injured or impacted in any way.

Just do not understand why people can even think that blowing up anyone or anything, even themselves proves anything apart from a deep seated need to have some sort of mental health treatment, possibly a lobotomy.

Tomorrow and the semi finals of the World Cup Football.
Sunday the finals.
I think this truely World event, where countries from all over the world come together for one single sport is just an amazing thing.
The hopes and dissappointent, and then hopes again for another 4 years.
In my view it is even more intense than the Winter or Summer Olympics, or the Commonwealth Games.
I've been pretty much an inconsistent football supporter as I never really followed the sport at a team level seriously when in the UK, except for Cup final's and Eurpoean Cup etc.

I've been following the World Cup religiously. When working at my desk at home, I have my other computer set to the BBC Sport's 2 minute updates whilst the bunny ears black and white weather radio TV picks the game up on the Spanish Channel.
At weekends I watch it on ESPN, commentated by American commentators which to me are a little more understandable than the Spanish Commentators but the passion is just not the same.
