David Home & Away and Other Stuff

Friday evening was Basketball night at the Toyota Center with the Kids, to see the Houston Rockets beat the Washington Wizards.

It was my first visit to the Toyota Center, but Timothy had been there before to see a Tennis Exhibition Match for Hurricane Katrina relief .

We parked in the $3 parking lot and walked several blocks to the Toyota Center to pick up the tickets.

I had not been downtown for a long time and was surprised how nice the downtown area looked now they had completed all the construction. Since the stadiums had been built it has revitalized the whole downtown area. Everything was neat tidy and thriving like a proper city should be.

You could also see the Baseball Stadium, 'Minute Maid Park'
The roof was open and you could see the seats and Stadium screen from the street.

Micah, Luke and Timothy waiting to go into the Toyota Center. The temperature was 82F degrees even in the evening, but not too humid.
We grabbed some food at the Mall and then returned to the Center where we were early enough to receive our free Rockets sweaters.

Before the Match Timothy, Luke and Micah all got their sweaters and a poster signed by the 'Rockets Power Dancers' and the Mascot.

Proud of their prized autographs, of course.

I'm still convinced that secretly the highlight was meeting the Rockets Mascot.......but maybe not....

.......And then to our seats and the game. .....American Sport is an assault of noise, entertainment, and Sport, as well as plenty of advertising and commercialization.
I'm still recovering from 2 small Pepsi's with ice and 2 small bottles of water for $15.. but it was a good fun evening.

The players were good but the Rockets Power Dancers certainly know how to slam dunk in style.
