Saturday 29th April. The 18th Birthday ..Finally...

Birthday kiss from his Aunt, well he was planning on sex on the beach with her later on the beach in Mexico. (The cocktail drink !!!)
We all get ready for a sit down breakfast in the restaurant.

Breakfast and Present opening time.....

On return to the room after a filling breakfast, time for one more lay down before departure to the bus to lay on a sun bed on a Mexican beach.

'Oh and Thank you dad for the wireless computer mouse.'
'Just one thing I don't have a computer... '
'Oh well Son you said you wanted a wireless mouse. . . , Happy 18th Birthday...'

A thank you for my presents kiss as we dock in Calica.

The Ship was coming into Port whilst we ate breakfast.
Calica. Sounds so romantic.
'Calica' is the name of a Mexican Gravel Company.
Their port is a mix of piles of granite for road building and conveyer belts to transport the gravel to the ships. Obviously they know how to build docks that can survive hurricanes unlike Cosumel and other Mexican holiday destinations.

We arrive at Calica....
Although hanging around the Port would have been a day of educational interest , (for about 5 minutes) , we took a tour bus to a beautiful Mexican beach.

We lay in the sun, swam and Jonathan has his alchoholic drink. It was not 'sex on the beach' but Margaritas.

I took Tim out on a Kayak. All beach photos are on Helen's camera so not available to me as yet to blog....

But when we got back on ship there was time to watch the ship depart and have some more time in the sun and in the hot tub.

As we set sail Carnival fully proud of their high standard of being environmentally clean, ramped up the engines for full steam ('Warp Speed ahead Scotty'.

'I'm doing the best I can Captain, She's burning up Sir, I'm giving it all I've got').......,

Out into the open waters, leaving land far behind. (cough, cough, sulphur smell.)

At Sea evening approaches and everyone scrubbed up and Mexico washed off, we set aside some Sushi to have with Champaigne back in the room. We believe Timothy had more champaigne than Jonathan....

I set up my laptop with a Powerpoint presentation for Jonathan to scroll through capturing some thoughts form the cruise and ending up letting him know that back at home there was a New Laptop for his 18th.

He was much pleased and I think we caught the moment from every angle thanks to Tim also...

After final present giving (yes more). there was much thanks hugs and then off to eat...again....

After another filling meal there was the 'wafer thin' CHOCOLATE birthday cake of course....sung by our waiters from El Salvador and waitress from Nepal.

One further thing Timothy did for his brother was to go around all the Crew he could find and get them to sign their name to acknowledge Jonathans 18th birthday.

He managed to get 53 signiatures.......

Jonathan wearing his 18th birthday pandant becaming known around the ship ' Your Jonathan aren't you?

As a result also Timothy began to be referred to as the signiature boy.

There was also a Mexican buffet and around 11.30pm one begins to get peckish again, the chocolate cake settles leaving a little gap for more food.

Some other tomfoolery 'avec camera'

....and other bits from the weekend
