Saturday morning and woke up with full intentions of going swimming. 10.30am now and I'm still thinking about it. Cool yet very bright and sunny morning so far.

Had breakfast and wandered around the garden in my dressing gown donated by a large Cruise line. (they did not realise they donated it. I just forgot I had it when leaving health spa and then subsequently the ship and thats my story, oh well !).

To prevent me being totally self absorbed in only what goes on around me I read the BBC Web site catching up on world news.
Listened to it last night also and was pleased that they are still , at least so far playing that theme tune at 5.30am BST (11.30pm CT). Thankl you for responding to my mail about that even if you are still going to get rid of the tune in the name of progress.

The BBC web site is most definately the best web site in the world, for news and in fact everything with links to tons of stuff and No commercials.

No pop up adds or cookies that beging to encroach on your viewing pleasure.
I spend many hours with the BBC radio stations playing when in the house in Houston and when travelling around the US. Helps delay the inevitabel of developing an American accent like my kids have and keeps me in tougch not only with the home country but also the real world.
Something that can be surprisingly difficult living in what can at times feel like a small country like the USA.

Try the following by way of comparisson
Fox ('Fair and balanced' they claimed, well they never responded to my mail about that BS claim either. (my blog..., I can express my views as I want here) . If you want news not narrow minded sensationalized opinion then maybe dont watste your time on Fox.

CNN, dont do bad but you got a long way to go to beat the BBC, keep up the good work and on CNN International on digital cable please cut out the advertidsing about yourself. Im already watching ....).

The Weather Channel I wanted the weather thank you not advertising. goodbye.....I have a cell phone already.

Well there are many others where you have to watch a commercial, get bombarded or side tracked onto something meant to grab your attention and help you forget what you were going to their site for originally.

Life is too short and time too precious to have commercials repeatedly and continually pumped into my brain again and again and again and again and again for something I DO NOT WANT OR NEED to purchase, or evenhear about, so keep your trucks, your tampons, antidepression tables that give might give liver disease and cramps, your washing powder, your fast food, your instant gratification this and that, etc etc.
Visit the sites and then go clean your cookies out of your computer. (I'll not even add their links to my blog. Find your own torture....

Meanwhile thank you BBC..and yes send me a licence fee bill before you even consider remotely cutting me out of watching or listening on the web.
I'm in an isolated Continent here and need your world news and unbiast perspective.

Well a few revelations when scanning the news on a cool sunny Houston morning.

I did not realise the extent of floods in mainland Europe.
Oh and the planet is warming up..http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/science/nature/4880328.stm
Scotland got its first case of bird flu. http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/4890228.stm
Supermarkets are beginning to tag product that can be trasked globally even into your larderhttp://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/click_online/4886598.stm

Grand National Steeplechase hourse race today. I see the headlines that 'Numbersixvalverde' wins National (what kind of name for a horse is that).http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/other_sports/horse_racing/4872496.stm
Read also that on St Patrick day saw 7 horses die during their steeple chase I was so caught up in worrying about wearing Green to prevent getting pinched again by my son.

Pictures from Baghdad show more bombs and streets filled with blood http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/4891008.stmwhilst I was wandering around my garden thinking about the weeds coming up in the cracks between the paving slabs.

Prince Harry caught going into a topless night club in Berkshire, (so big revelation...he's normal)..
and damn I didn't even know there was one there, and when I was in the UK near Berkshire, I spent my time visiting vilages and wandering around the countryside alone and I could have been going there....(just kidding , ....what is a topless night club? I usually wear a shirt when I go out....).

Anyway going swimming and as trying to keep this body looking fitter and younger than it is on my mind again. Wilst others ar no doubt running riding swimming and keeping fit . I dont want to fall behind...
I think I'll head out to the YMCA' outside pool and do a few lengths, before heading off to Tims tennis again, camera in hand.....
