Friday and Tim and I went to Leeds Castle

The Castle is great and the Gardens are wonderful.

We walked from the car around the Gardens to the castle. It was peaceful no one around and all the Spring flowers were out. Tulips Crocus, Daffodils, Bluebells and many other wild flowers.

Some of the castle dates back to the Norman period, the later part of 11th century after the battle of Hastings. Other parts are from

Blackbird

The Castle is surrounded by a large moat.

To get to the castle you have to cross a bridge.

The Castle extends across a second are of water.

The grounds are large and it is so tranquil, sunny warm and no wind.

The are is surrounded by a bird sanctuary. may birds wander freely around the grounds.

There was a large well stocked wine cellar for groups and conferences that use the Castle each year.
