Costa Rica for Work and then a little play at the Weekend after a 5 hour drive from San Josa to Guadanaste:

The view out of my hotel room window
\

The hotel pool as seen from the hotel room.

I woke up to this each morning....

San Jose on the way into the office by cab.

Small towns on the way to work...

San Jose from the cab

Many beautiful flowers.

Storms came rolling most afternoons . It is the rainy season.

Rodolfo work collegue and my informal tour guide attempting to cross the river.

He made it across and found a fish in his swim trunks.

Hermit crab burrowing

The pool

The water aerobics teachers, I was tapping my toes.....

Sun beating down most of the morning.

Beaches were pretty much empty....

'Desperate times desperate measures' found someone with sun protection cream, I still got very sun burnt. Incrinimating photo care of Rodolfo using my camera. Canadian travelling around on her own for two weeks staying in a hostel for $9 per night.....(Rodolfo and I were spending $140, which is why we could not afford sun cream).

I was shown how to surf by Rodolfo, but thankfully no photos of that.

Me surfing ........not.....

Not me surfing again , but I m sure I looked as good....

Afternoon rain falling off of the bar roof

Sun set as the storm clouds rolled away.

Lizards wandered around eating left over fruit from our plates.

5 hour journey to the beach and a 5 hour journey back.

Much beautiful countryside.

The bridge built by funding from Taiwan.

A stop for some refereshents and a stretch of the legs.

There were many small bridges along the way crossing streams and ravines..

There was much of beauty and of course the usual impact of human habitation along the way..
